FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, specifically to neurology, pathonomy, clinical pathophysiology. Estimate of disease severity and indications for antioxidant therapy in the patients suffering from chronic cerebral ischemia is ensured as follows. Blood plasma dissolved in standard buffer 1:20-1:50 is oxidised with aqueous solution CuSO4·5H2O with CuSO4 concentrated as 10-20 mcmole. 4 and 24 hours after incubation at 37°C, stored products reacting with thiobarbituric acid are registered in conversion to 1 ml of undiluted plasma. The values exceeding 70 nmoles/ml and 100 nmoles/ml respectively show high risk of complicated clinical course of CCI with additional antioxidant therapy required.

EFFECT: application of the invention allows registering the processes receding functional and morphological cerebral changes and prescribing the required therapy.
