FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed active system for the formation of an objects image in millimetre wave band can be used in radiolocation and telecommunication systems. The system contains an antenna assembly, configured for transmission in the direction of the object, which is situated at the location of the object and for receiving from the object, which is situated at the location of the object, electromagnetic emission and control unit. The control unit has a receiver-transmitter for carrying out work of the antenna assembly and generating the output signal, typical for the received emission, and also a processor, meant for the transformation of the signal output of the receiver-transmitter to video data, characteristic of the image of the object. The antenna assembly is mobile, making partial and full rotations around the object, towards or away from the object or in the opposite direction to the antenna assembly connected to them. The aerial unit in the antenna assembly is placed along the antenna array at different angles. The antenna array is formed from several segments of antenna array, and a group of antenna arrays can be used in a combined form to create an antenna assembly.
