SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the operating system of a smart card and a method of its operation, the system is powered. A module for selecting operating mode (104) evaluates a method for powering the system and selects the first operating mode, if the voltage is supplied from a non-contact power supply, or selects the second operating mode, if the voltage is supplied from a contact power supply; in the first operational mode the command processing module (108) separately processes the received non-contact command, and in the second operating mode, processes contact command in parallel, received by the contact communication module (106), and a non-contact command, received by the non-contact communication module (107). The operating system of smart card is capable of simultaneously maintaining contact communication and non-contact communication.

EFFECT: significant increase in the flexibility of using smart cards.
