FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: crushed metallurgical-grade silicon and alkaline solution are charged into a hermetically sealed metal reactor 1. Discharged hydrogen is delivered through a gas pipeline 2 to a fuel electrochemical cell 3 or a gas burner. Produced sodium silicate -Na2SiO3 as an aqueous solution is delivered through a collector 4 to an electrodialyser 5 wherein it is exposed to electric current to separate ions SiO3-- and Na through membranes 11 to anode 9 and cathode 6 respectively. At anode 9 of the electrodialyser, after oxygen gas discharged through a connection pipe 10 is separated, released hydrogen ions while combining to ions SiO3--, form silicon acid deposit H2SiO3. On cathode 6, gaseous hydrogen molecules escape from water while been discharged from the electrodialyser through a connection pipe 7 connected through the gas pipeline 2 to the fuel electrochemical cell. Ions Na+ passed from the middle chamber of the dialyser are combined with released anions OH- to produce alkaline solution delivered back to the reactor 1 through a fluid collector. Hydrogen amount matching unit 12 in the reactor 1 based on variation of alkaline solution concentration reacts on power loss generated in the fuel electrochemical cell 3 and signals to a actuating element 13 controlling current density electrodes 6 and 9 of the electrodyaliser 5.

EFFECT: cost reduction of generated hydrogen and production of raw materials for high-clean silicon.
