FIELD: physics; communications.
SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to electrical engineering and can be used in optical communication cables when making fibre optic communication lines. The optical cable contains optical fibres in polymer tapes, hydrophobic filler, C-form module, a main reinforcement element in that module, extra load-bearing element in the outer polymer coating, water-blocking tape and two cords, breaking the outer shell, located near the tops of the C-form module. To simplify coating the optical core, extracting optical fibres, cutting on time for repairing damages and protection from moisture penetration when repairing the optical cable, the C-form module on the optical fibre can close one of the tops with another top by overlapping. The water-blocking tape is located on the whole length of the inner section of the C-form module with overlapping of edges. On the outer surface of the shell there are two furrows, indicating location of two cords breaking the outer shell.
EFFECT: optimisation of fibre optic communication lines.
