FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: amorphous material contains at least 35 wt % of Al2O3 whereat the percentage composition is determined from the general weight of amorphous material and at least one of the following metal oxides Y2O3, REO, ZrO2, TiO2, CaO, Cr2O3, MgO or CuO. The total share of As2O3, B2O3, GeO2, P2O5, SiO2, TeO2 and V2O5 does not exceeds 10 wt % with all being given in relation to the total mass of the amorphous material. Amorphous material dimensions along the orthogonal axes x, y and z are at least 5 mm. If oxide other than Al2O3 is CaO or ZrO2 the amorphous material contains additionally the metal oxide other than Al2O3, CaO or ZrO2 and in case of amorphous material crystallisation at least part of the said oxide is separate crystalline phase. If the metal oxide is CaO its content is not more than 25 wt % in relation to the total mass of the amorphous material. The method includes obtaining of amorphous particles and their following thermic treatment for glass-ceramics obtaining.
EFFECT: obtaining of abrasive materials with improved mechanical properties by less expensive and more economical way.
