FIELD: instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to automatic control devices for liquid and gaseous media for checking of mechanical impurities. Method consists in passing of light flux through controlled liquid, its conversion into electric signals. The degree of contamination depending upon size and quantity of particles is determined by these electric signals. Also time of particles passing through the controlled liquid volume is measured. Contamination particle size is defined from the specified formula. The formula includes height value of liquid controlled volume, minimum size of controlled particle, time of controlled particle passing through controlled liquid volume and minimum time of one controlled particle passing through controlled liquid volume. Liquid flux rate, liquid consumption and particles concentration are also defined. Controlled volume sizes are chosen depending upon the condition of possible time measurement of single particle passing through controlled volume.
EFFECT: decreasing of inaccuracy, and structure simplification.
