FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment, where it is necessary to perform rapid analysis of motor oil quality. Method for analysis of contamination of engine oil of internal combustion engine includes sensing dispersed particles studied dispersion medium with beam of low power laser and ultrasonic radiation, registration of scattered and reflected radiation dispersed particles, reference channel with clean engine oil and two channel control in test volume of crankcase. Control channel of metal particles is located at bottom of engine case oil tray and control channel of carbon monoxide particles, which is located at height of minimum oil level in case, and also three ultrasonic radiators, frequency of which depends on oil temperature, obtained by means of CCD matrices of images of scattered from investigated media light beam and relationships between parameters of images for reference channel and channel control of metal particles. Furthermore, parameters of images of reference channel and channel control carbon monoxide particles are used to determine degree and nature of contamination of motor oil, sizes and shapes of disperse particles.
EFFECT: technical result is high information content of data for evaluation of concentration, size and shape of suspended metal and carbon monoxide disperse particles contained in oil.
