FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: modular burner for burning gas-air mixture consists of housing, burner head, fuel- and air-supply paths connected with fuel supply line having a branch, and with air supply correspondingly. There is a device for measuring gas content of gas-air mixture, normally closed pilot-operated valve, automatic control system, pressure control of gas-air mixture with variable output pressure assignment. Burner head tip is provided with central and peripheral nozzles. Perforated support plate forms clear area for air passage to flame tube cavity from air-supply path. Clear area is less than cross-section area of flame tube. Inner diametre of flame tube is related to nominal heat power of burner by mathematical relationship. Automatic control system is adjusted for burning gas-air mixture with specified lower and upper allowable limits of gas concentration in mixture. Air is supplied to flame tube, and gas-air mixture - to burner head. Fuel supply line is purged through the branch, and gas content of gas-air mixture is continuously measured. Burner is lit-up and set to automatic control mode of heat power. At concentration increase the mixture flow supplied to burner head is decreased, and air flow supplied to flame tube is increased.

EFFECT: possibility of burning gas-air mixtures of variable composition in automatic burner operation mode providing operating reliability thereof, control and maintaining the required heat power.
