FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: solar cell system includes at least the first solar cell with photoactive semi-conducting layer located between the front and the rear contact, as well as at least one discrete protective diode connected to solar cell and having a substrate consisting of semi-conducting material of the first conductivity type, layer having conductivity of the second type and formed on substrate surface, or layer applied to the above surface, the first metal contact located on the above layer with conductivity of the second type and the second metal contact located on the substrate, at that, connectors for connecting the protective diode are led out of the first and the second metal contact. At that, the second contact is in direct contact with protective diode substrate and is located near the first metal contact and at some distance therefrom, and is electrically connected to the first metal contact through p-n-transition. Besides, there proposed are two versions of method of connecting solar cell chain as per the first invention.
EFFECT: possibility of general protection of solar cell, composition or chain of cells by means of one or several protective diodes without using solar cell material.
