FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of making a silicon solar cell with a selective emitter, according to the invention, involves the following steps carried out in the given order: forming a two-dimensional emitter on the emitter surface of the solar cell substrate; depositing an etching barrier on first partial areas of the emitter surface; etching the emitter surface in second partial areas of the emitter surface not coated by barrier etching; removing the barrier etching; and forming metal contacts on the first partial areas. A solar cell made using the described method is also provided.
EFFECT: method of making a silicon solar cell with a selective emitter is compatible with other operations usually used in industry; method is cost-effective and enables to produce high-efficiency solar cells which are on high demand.
