FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a fuel-cell battery. According to the invention, the fuel-cell battery (10) comprises a fuel element (20), which generates electrical energy when a reactive gas is fed into it, air compressor (C1), which feeds oxidising gas into the fuel element (20), pressure sensor (P2), which measures pressure of the oxidising gas, pressure regulating valve (C2) which regulates pressure of the oxidising gas, and a control device (50), which controls the opening of the pressure regulating valve (C2), based on pressure, measured by the pressure sensor (P2). If the pressure sensor (P2) is faulty, the control device (50) opens the pressure regulating valve (C2) such that its degree of opening is equal or greater than the given degree of opening. Due to this design, the fuel element does not stop immediate operation if the pressure sensor (P2) is faulty, but continues functioning for a certain period of time.
EFFECT: uninterrupted operation in case of faults in the device for determining state of gas (gas state detector), which determines state of the reactive gas fed into the fuel element.
