METHOD OF ESTIMATION OF ATYPICAL FORMS OF OPTIC NERVE DISC Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61B3/10

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology and is intended for estimation of form of optic nerve disc. By means of retina tomography determined are: index of optic nerve disc (OND) ellipticity as ratio of vertical disc diametre to horizontal disc diametre, OND area, cupping area, minimal value of OND contour line, OND inclination, determined by difference between nasal and temporal disk edges by Z-values in interactive measurement. If ellipticilty index is equal 0.5-0.75 OND form is estimated as transversal. If ellipticity index is >1.35 OND form is estimated as longitudinal. If OND inclination is more than 300 mcm, OND form is estimated as inclined. If OND area is more than 3.0 mm2 in combination with epllipticity index 0.75-1.35 OND form is estimated as large OND of rounded form. If cupping area is more than 0.5 mm2 in combination with OND area up to 1.5-3.0 mm2 and ellipticity index 0.75 - 1.35 OND is estimated as being of rounded form with large cupping. If cupping area is not more than 0.05 mm2 in combination with minimal value of OND contour line not more than 0.1 OND form is estimated as prominating. Method ensures increase of quality of diagnostics of different eye bulb diseases accompanied by damage of optic nerve disc structure with differentiation by OND form.

EFFECT: ensuring increase of quality of diagnostics of different eye bulb diseases accompanied by damage of optic nerve disc structure with differentiation by OND form.
