FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to assess the risk of progression of primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG). The patient's age, the worst value of the pulse wave velocity (PWV_worse) of upper and lower extremities, rs1801260 polymorphism of the CLOCK gene_3111, the ratio of the evening value to the morning value of the following indicators: intraocular pressure (IOPe/IOPm), total blood cholesterol (OHe/OHm), indicators of flow-dependent vasodilation (PVDe/PVDm) are determined. One point is assigned for each indicator when the patient is older than 45 years, IOPe/IOPm>1.3, OHe/OHm>1.1 PWV_worse>18 m/s, PVDe/PVDm>1.8%, TT genotype of the rs1801260 locus of the CLOCK_3111 gene. With a score of 5–6, a high risk of progression is predicted, with a score of 3–4 a medium risk of progression is predicted, with a score of 0–2 a low risk of progression is predicted.
EFFECT: method provides an opportunity to choose an adequate tactics for managing patients and optimizing treatment depending on the degree of risk of progression of POAG due to the scoring of predictors of the disease development.
