FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of preparing a catalyst based on aluminium oxide for synthesis of melamine from carbamide. Described is a method of producing a catalyst based on aluminium oxide, involving anodic dissolution of metallic aluminium in a solution of electrolyte - carbamide of 10-40% wt, concentration, filtration of precipitate, addition of concentrated hydrochloric acid, addition into the obtained solution of 4-5% volume aluminium chloride of 70% wt concentration or iron chloride of 30% wt, concentration, drop moulding of the mass into granules in kerosene layer and then in a layer of structuring liquid - solution of 40-50% wt ammonium carbonate, concentration, drying, calcination to 1000°C.
EFFECT: obtaining a catalyst with high specific surface area and activity.
