FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a wide-pore alumina support suitable for preparing catalysts based thereon, including catalysts for hydrotreating diesel fractions, and a method for preparing said support. Disclosed is a method of producing an alumina support for catalysts, including hydration of product of thermochemical activation of aluminum hydroxide in presence of ammonium salts, dissociating or hydrolyzing with formation of ammonium and carbonate ions, at temperature of 40–80 °C, washing from impurities, after washing, hydrothermal treatment is carried out at temperature of 100–140 °C to form pseudoboehmite, separation of the obtained pseudoboehmite, mixing of pseudoboehmite with a peptizing agent, molding, drying and calcination. Also disclosed is an alumina catalyst support obtained using said method.
EFFECT: obtaining pseudoboehmite with a large pore volume while maintaining a high specific surface area from a product of thermochemical activation of aluminum hydroxide, as well as obtaining a mesoporous alumina carrier based thereon with high strength, specific surface area and moisture capacity without the need to introduce pore-forming or burnable additives at the stage of plasticization and molding.
