FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: synthetic analogue of leu-enkephalin - dalargin is entered into a subarachnoid space in a dose of 2 mg which is dissolved in 4 ml of an isotonic solution of sodium chloride for treatment of patients with the spastic and painful syndrome which has arisen owing to a vertebral-spinal trauma. Procedure is repeated 5 times every 2 days.
EFFECT: fastest and effective depression of muscular spasticity and reduction of a painful syndrome at the expense of fuller overlapping of all spectrum of opiate receptors by an agent having high affinity to them, administered in a certain regimen.
