SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication and can be used to provide feedback with indication of channel quality in a wireless transmission network on several carrier frequencies. A transmitter can determine the level of complete average signal on N subranges, which comprises several subcarrier frequencies, and can also determine the level of the first average signal in the first subrange. The transmitter contains a controller, meant for generating feedback messages on channel quality factor, containing a first data field which indicates the level of complete average signal, a second data field which indicates the level of first average signal, and a transmission module, meant for transmitting feedback messages to the wireless network.

EFFECT: efficient transmission/reception of channel quality information.
