FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: device (20) has a distal end (22) for putting into the gastrointestinal tract of a patient, section (24) for putting into the body of a patient, and section (3) for fixing the device in position on the body of a patient. Section (24) has a first tube (1), to which another tube (4) is attached. The device has a second tube (2), mainly parallel to the first tube (1) and attached to it. Distal end (22) of the second tube (2) can communicate with the first pipe (1). The first tube (1) and the second tube (2) are made from material freely permeable to gases, especially carbon dioxide, and impermeable to body fluids and other substances. An additional tube (5) is joined to the second tube (2). The outer diametre of tubes (1,2) varies between 1 and 4 mm, and wall thickness varies from 0.3 to 1.0 mm. The set contains a tonometric device and a measuring unit (100), which can be connected to the said device and used for direct or indirect measurement of carbon dioxide content.
EFFECT: device can be put into the stomach of a patient without preliminary preparation and is suitable for use in premature babies.
