SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method of producing aluminium and aluminium-containing materials from solid aluminium-containing raw materials. The method involves leaching aluminium-containing raw material with a leaching solution and formation of an aqueous solution, containing aluminium ions, extraction of aluminium ions from the aqueous solution by contacting the aqueous solution with an organic reagent and movement of aluminium ions into the organic reagent and formation of an aluminium complex and extraction of aluminium or aluminium-containing material from the aluminium complex. The stage of extracting aluminium involves displacement of aluminium ions from the aluminium complex by contacting the aluminium complex with the aqueous solution, and then extraction of aluminium or aluminium-containing material. The solution, used on this stage, is more acidic than the initial leaching solution, and has limited aluminium solubility.

EFFECT: reduced capital costs and possibility of processing mediocre bauxites.
