FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of processing industrial wastes, in particular, to methods of treating fly ash. Method involves leaching of fly ash using HCl to obtain a leaching product, containing aluminium ions, iron ions and a solid substance, and separating said solid substance from leaching product. Method then includes reacting leaching product with HCl to obtain liquid containing iron ions, and a precipitate containing aluminium ions in form of AlCl3. Precipitate is separated from liquid. Precipitate is heated under conditions ensuring conversion of AlCl3 into Al2O3, and formed gaseous HCl is optionally extracted.
EFFECT: providing a cheap method of producing pure aluminium oxide with simultaneous production of other products of high purity and high quality.
