FIELD: communication facilities.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns access terminal providing wireless communication with access network within a sector. Effect is achieved by access terminal including transmission device sending feedback signal of access network traffic, receiver receiving signals from access network, processor and memory unit with electric connection to the processor. Instructions stored in memory implement method of determination whether permission for current transmission rate assignment for data flow in access terminal from access network was received. If permission for current transmission rate assignment is still valid, current transmission rate assignment for data flow is established equal to the rate permitted. If permission for current transmission rate is not received, current transmission rate for data flow is assigned.

EFFECT: improved operation of media access control (MAC) level at an access terminal of wireless communication system.
