METHOD OF FORECASTING SEED GROWING POTENTIAL OF LIQUORICE Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A01G7/00

FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: method involves optimisation of harvesting duration, adjustment of average daily temperatures from the beginning of liquorice footstalks vegetation till budding, determination of hydrothermic index over a period of appearing first two - three leaves on foostalks till budding and calculation of forecasted seed growing potential. Dynamic plots are established in agrarian malsters or liquorice plantations during prevernal period by using method of "envelope". The size of plots is 1 m2. Root mass is extracted from the layer of 0-(0.5-0.7) m. Average age of licorice association is determined through annual rings on the cuts of roots. During budding period average quantity of infertile shoots with inflorescences, first and secondary branches with buds are placed on the areas located next to the dynamic plots. Forecasted seed growing potential of liquorice is determined by formula:

EFFECT: enhancement of forecasting seed growing potential of common licorice and Ural licorice.
