ABDOMINAL CAVITY DRAINAGE TECHNIQUE IN TERTIARY PERITONITIS Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61B17/00 A61M27/00

FIELD: medicine; surgery.

SUBSTANCE: abdominal wall is dissected. Through incisions, drainages are inserted in upper, lower levels and inclined areas of abdominal cavity. Transverse incisions of length 3-4 cm are made, each being on the left and right lateral abdominal wall in projection of inclined area of abdominal cavity lateral in the middle of the length of free end of 12th rid and iliac crest. A short oblique incision of length 3-4 cm is performed in projection of lower level of abdominal wall to the right and to the left or both sides. Surgical gloves are used as drainages. One glove is inserted in lower level of abdominal cavity and delivered outside through the short oblique incision or the incisions cuts of anterior abdominal wall. The other glove is applied in upper level and the top floor and inclined areas of abdominal cavity, including laterals, and delivered outside through the transverse incisions of lateral abdominal wall.

EFFECT: removal of viscous fibrinopurulent exudate containing tissue necrosis particles from the whole abdominal cavity of a bed-ridden patient suffering from tertiary peritonitis, acceleration of cleansing of abdominal cavity and liquidation of tertiary peritonitis, reduced surgical injuries.
