CONVENTIONAL THERAPY OF CONGENITAL TALIPES EQUINOVARUS Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61F5/00

Abstract RU 2364379 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns medicine, namely orthopaedics. Redress exercises are taken with involving gradual elimination of talipes elements. A soft pad is applied over shin and foot and fixed within upper third of shin, forefoot in circular ways of adhesive tape that is delivered from medial to lateral surfaces of shin through plantar surface and divided at outer foot into two equal parts, one is being placed on anterolateral surface, while the other - on posterolateral surface of shin. The second adhesive tape is attached to inner foot in projection of the first metatarsophalangeal joint. The tape is split up to two equal parts, and one of is passed in short oblique direction along posterior foot to posterolateral surface of shin. The other one is directed in short oblique direction on plantar surface through the middle of outer foot herewith passing to lateral surface of shin. The third adhesive tape is fixed on posterior surface of a shin. The tape is divided on two equal parts delivered along inner and outer surfaces of calcaneal region, and crossed on planar surface. Medial part of the tape is thrown over outer foot and lateral part of the tape over inner edge on posterior foot. The fourth adhesion tape is fixed on planar surfaces within metatarsal eminence. The tape is split up to two equal parts. One part is passed through inner foot in short oblique direction to lateral surface of shin. The other part is directed in short oblique direction through outer foot on medial surface of shin.

EFFECT: method provides reliable fixation of foot in correct position, with keeping mobility in ankle joint, controlled and graduated correction of talipes elements, and reduced treatment time.
