FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the process of casting liquid metal into ingots and is to be implemented with any machine for continuous casting of sections. The invention is aimed to provide (regardless of changing environmental conditions) for adaptive adjustment of start speed and slowdown commencement point of the drive motor of the section withdrawal mechanism at the moment of start for the actual start path and start time performance during a metal section withdrawal to correspond to the preset values regardless of changing environmental conditions. Immediately in the course of section casting one performs continuous definition of the start path and start time actual values which are subsequently compared against the preset values; based on the analysis one identifies the slowdown commencement point of the drive motor of the section withdrawal mechanism at the moment of start termination or performs measurement of the preset stabilised start speed. To provide for that the device is additionally equipped with a computer unit performing certain actions and connected to elements of the device for control of the section withdrawal mechanism of the machine for continuous casting of horizontal type sections.
EFFECT: improved reliability of the casting process.
