FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy and is to be used for manufacture of steel in arc steel-making furnaces. The proposed method envisages the following activities: fusion mixture charge, its meltdown, provision for an oxidation melting period by way of blowing oxygen through the metal bath with the help of a nozzled tuyere embedded under the bath surface, provision for a reduction period and metal tapping. The blowing is done with the help of the tuyere whose nozzles are positioned serially within the same vertical plane. The tuyere is capable of continuous reciprocal motion within the horizontal plane in a direction perpendicular to the tuyere nozzles arrangement axis with the nozzles embedment depth continuously maintained as equal to 0.5 of the bath depth. One provides for the tuyere continuous reciprocal motion within the horizontal plane in a direction perpendicular to the tuyere nozzles arrangement axis during the whole of the blowing period.
EFFECT: proposed invention implementation enables reduction of oxygen consumption and waste of metal with steel manufacture in arc steel-making furnaces.
