FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; making steel in electric arc steel making furnaces.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes blowing the bath with oxygen through one or several non-cooled metal tubes located under metal bath surface. Non-cooled metal tubes introduced into melt may be moved vertically and horizontally; clearance between outlet section of non-cooled metal tube and furnace hearth is equal to 0.3-0.35 of furnace bath depth. Device proposed for realization of this method has two secured rollers and one pulling roller which is movable vertically and is used for change of bending radius on non-cooled metal tube. Required rate of delivery of tube into furnace working space is ensured at constant flow rate of oxygen.
EFFECT: reduced melting losses of metal and specific consumption of oxygen at making steel.
