SUBSTANCE: method comprises filling charge, its melting, oxidizing and reducing periods while blowing oxygen molten bath are at the disconnected uncooled furnace through a tube placed inside the hollow electrodes, wherein ends of the metal pipes buried into a depth equal to 4-7 of their diameters. Oxygen supply through the tubes is carried out in a pulsed mode. The tubes are movable vertically during the purge period to maintain a constant level of immersion of the end portion.
EFFECT: invention allows to reduce metal waste by eliminating the probability of formation of local, in the field of oxygen input, the high-temperature zones, where the metal temperature reaches the boiling point, and reduce the specific consumption of oxygen due to its better absorption and shorten the time Purge smelting in general.
