FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering and can be used for power supply of three-phase induction squirrel cage motors that drive the track mechanised tools intended for maintenance and repair railroad tract. Known method comprises connecting the feed current frequency converter plug to stationary or mobile electric power source. Branch plug with fuse and sockets is connected that of the feed current frequency converter. Track tool motor plug is connected to one of aforesaid sockets. Proposed method differs from aforesaid known one in that the device plug is connected to electric power source socket. Aforesaid device accommodates switch, two sockets and unit to smoothly convert output current strength and motor rotor r.p.m. The said unit serves also to convert feed current frequency in the range of 0.5 to 500 Hz, to smoothly vary output current strength and rotor r.p.m. Then preset are output current strength, rotor r.p.m. and feed current frequency. Now branch plug is connected to one of the sockets, switch is connected to aforesaid branch plug and tool motor plug is connected to one of aforesaid sockets.

EFFECT: higher efficiency and safety.
