FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely to a method of recovery of vanadium from titanium-vanadium slag obtained at the time of processing titanium-vanadium concentrates using methods of obtaining iron. The method involves breakage of slag, oxidising roasting with conversion of vanadium into a soluble form, cooling of the roasted slag and leaching it to extract vanadium in the solution. The slag is roasted at a temperature of 1050-1150°C during 15-45 min. If the slag contains more than 8% of CaO, roasting requires no additives. If the slag contains less than 8% of CaO, roasting requires CaCO3 in the amount of 5-15% of the slag weight. After cooling the roasted slag is leached with sulfuric acid at pH - 2.5-3.0 during 10-20 min.
EFFECT: increased amount of extracted vanadium from titanium-vanadium slag reaching 85-97%, as well as improved technical and economic performance of the process as a whole.
