FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method for shaft misalignment measurement refers to measurement technique and may be used in mechanical-engineering and repair industry. The method is based on the fact that measurement is performed using telescopic measuring instruments connected as right triangle equipped with angle gauge and having fixed right angle. Gauges - cathetus are pivotally connected with gauge - hypotenuse equal to extreme misalignment being measured, gauge - hypotenuse is installed with its tips in axial bores of shafts and stopped. Then one of the gauges - cathetus is turned to be horizontally oriented and the other gauge-cathetus becomes vertically oriented. In this process horizontal, vertical and extreme misalignment is determined either on the basis of measured value of extreme misalignment and measured value of tilt angle of gauge-hypotenuse equal to extreme misalignment being measured to horizontal plane or on the basis of readings of gauges connected into right triangle.
EFFECT: measurement process independence from difference of shaft diametres.
