FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, particularly to a method of making superconducting wire and to a superconducting device using such a wire. The method involves forming a superconducting layer on a substrate or intermediate layer, formed on that substrate, formation of a stabilising silver layer on the superconducting layer with subsequent immersion of the said substrate into a copper sulphate solution, after formation of a superconducting layer and a stabilising silver layer, and formation of a stabilising copper layer on the stabilising silver layer through electroplating using copper sulphate solution as an electrolytic bath, with current density of not more than 9 A/dm2.
EFFECT: reduced cost of making the wire, as well as increased mechanical strength of the superconducting wire.
