FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: in compliance with proposed method, a surface hardening tool is used comprising heating elements that represent plasma torches, and deforming elements representing cylindrical rods that allow increasing contact spots in direction from heating elements. Note here, the workpiece surface is heated to temperature, lower than that of structural-phase transformations, using plasma torches to form contact spots at the point the flames are in contact to provide for maximum density of the surface layer inner power.
EFFECT: higher quality of hardened surface.
