METHOD FOR DETECTION OF RESIDUAL RESOURCE OF HEATING UTILITY PIPES Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC G01N3/00

Abstract RU 2366920 C1

FIELD: physics, tests.

SUBSTANCE: suggested invention is related to the field of technical maintenance and operation of pressure vessels and pipelines, mostly in heat and power engineering, and may be used to assess residual resource of pipeline metal that works under conditions of durable effect of permanent and alternate loads. Invention objective consists in the fact that in order to detect residual resource of heating utility pipes it is necessary to know duration of operation, when all the main metal of pipe reaches rupture stress at working pressure. It is achieved by the fact that method for detection of residual resource of heating utility pipes includes selection of pipeline section from the same steel grade, same rated diametre and thickness of wall, detection of residual resource, according to invention, residual resource is detected by remaining time to the maximum possible service life, which precedes the moment of working pressure coincidence with the rupture pressure of pipeline metal by 1-3 years. Besides rupture stress is detected by formula , where is pipeline metal yield point, MPa; Vσ is velocity of degradation, MPa/year; t is duration of operation, year; D is diametre, mm; s0 is wall thickness, mm; V is velocity of corrosion, mm/year; φ=0.9 is coefficient of welded seam weakening.

EFFECT: provision of possibility to detect pipeline resource in process of operation using specified data on velocity of corrosion and velocity of metal degradation directly at each section, based on changing conditions, to detect maximum service life of pipeline, which is quite perspective in maintenance of existing pipelines and design of new heating utilities.
