FIELD: physics, measurements.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to procedure of antenna measurements. Method consists in reception of arriving signal by elements of phased antenna array (PAA), generation of signals at outputs of PAA elements in the form of scalar products of signals at inputs of PAA elements with complex weight coefficients combined into weight vector, variation of weight vector, which is changed so that to obtain different directions of directional pattern (DP) of PAA, output power of PAA is measured at every direction of PAA DP and with invariable amplitude-phase distribution (APD) of received signal field, results of measurements are used to make vector-matrix equation of measurements of the following type: where is m-metre vector of measurements, which combines measurements of PAA output power produced at different directions of DP, m is number of made measurements, W is matrix with size of n2×m determined by combination of weight vectors, at which measurements were made, n is number of PAA elements, is vector with size of n2 determined by sought for vector of received signal APD, or, when required, to take into account errors of measurements, equation of measurements is made of the following type: where is vector of measurement error, from equation of measurements assessment of vector is found, and APD is restored by components of this vector assessment.

EFFECT: provision of most complete information about surveyed environment, which may be obtained by means of signal processing in aperture of phased antenna array (PAA).
