SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication systems. The method and device carry out handover from E-UMTS system to UMTS system. E-RAN E-UMTS system determines that, so as to carry out handover, based on the measured signal intensity of the UMTS system, sent from a subscriber device (UE). E-CN E-UMTS system then forms PDP context and MM context for UE and establishes a tunnel for transferring UE data to GGSN UMTS system using PDP/MM-context. E-CN sends UE an instruction message for handover, which contains information on a radio channel (RB), which should be used through UE, to access UMTS system. UE accesses UMTS system using RB information and redirects user data for UE trough a data transfer path, consisting of E-CN, data transfer tunnel, SGSN and RAN UMTS system.
EFFECT: easier handover.
