SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mobile communication. The present invention provides a message transmission method and a serving GPRS support node. The method includes the following steps: if a SGSN to which a user device is connected changes from a first SGSN to a second SGSN, the first SGSN transmits to the second SGSN a message containing context information of the user device, wherein the context information contains a packet data network gateway type with which said user device is connected.

EFFECT: enabling a new SGSN to obtain a packet data network (PDN) gateway type and correct selection the type of the used interface according to the gateway type.
