FIELD: physics, tests.
SUBSTANCE: application: for assessment of structure destruction processes in acoustic-emission control. Assessment of destruction processes in case of structure deformation is carried out by means of analysis time breakdown into fixed intervals, number of emission acts is measured on each of these intervals, average values of acts number and their squares are assessed by time of analysis, then from expectation value of random variable square, which is the average number of acoustic emission acts, they subtract expectation value of this random variable and square of this random variable expectation value, and deviation of difference from zero is used to detect availability of developing damage processes.
EFFECT: higher validity and efficiency of damage accumulation and structure damage process assessment during periodical and permanent acoustic-emission control.
