SURGICAL TREATMENT METHOD OF TROPHIC CORNEAL ULCERS ADVANCED AGAINST PARALYTIC LAGOPHTHALMOS Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61F9/07

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ophthalmology and can be used during surgical treatment of deep corneal defects being the result of trophic keratitis at lagophthalmos. The bed having the size that exceeds the size of the defect is prepared. For typical layer-by-layer keratoplasty there used is Alloplant biomaterial with diametre of 6-9 mm and thickness of 200 micron, which is fixed to the bed either with continuous or with separate interrupted stitches of 10:0. After that tectonic coating of cornea is performed with Alloplant biomaterial for scleroplastic by Pivovarov, from which there cut is a rectangular-shaped strap 15×6 mm. The strap is positioned on cornea so that, on the one hand, tight fixation of the cornea defective zone can be achieved, and on the other hand, to leave a small section of corneal transplant uncovered in order to watch its state. Edges of the strap are put into the formed conjunctival pockets and fixed on episclera with individual interrupted stitches 5:0, which are laid on external 1/2-3/5 of the length of palpebral fissure and passed through tarsuses.

EFFECT: developing clinically effective method of surgical treatment of deep corneal defects being the result of trophic keratitis at lagophthalmos.
