FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to passive and active radar, more specifically to radio-thermal locator (RTL) and radar stations (RS) for surveillance of ground and airborne objects based on mobile or stationary carrier stations with antenna arrays. The proposed method lies in that, during surveillance of the ground or airborne environment using a scanning multichannel antenna in form of an array of nonradiating elements for maintenance of the scanned area, a complete window is used when processing data, which corresponds to the size of the scanned area. The number of measurement channels is increased and the obtained measurements are processed. As a result, a matrix of the amplitude image of the scanned area is obtained, with increase in resolution of angular coordinates by several times.
EFFECT: wider area for clear vision to the scope of the radio-thermal locator station and radar station, as well as increased accuracy and speed of operation when displaying images of ground or airborne environment.
