SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of nuclear power engineering, in particular to minute fuel element of nuclear reactor with double-layer protective coats. Minute fuel element of nuclear reactor with double-layer protective coat of fuel microsphere contains two layers of protective coat. The first layer from fuel microsphere is made of low-density pyrocarbon. The second layer of protective coat is made of titanium-siliceous carbide Ti3SiC2 .
EFFECT: reduced damageability of layer by mechanism of through cracks creation.
