TUYERE FOR BOTTOM GAS BLOWING OF METAL IN LADLE AND METHOD OF TUYERE FABRICATION Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC B22D41/58 

FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: tuyere consists of metal sleeve with bottom filled with refractory concrete mass wherein fissure channels and wear indicator are made moulded with refractory concrete mass. Additional labyrinth channels are made in refractory concrete mass; the channels are situated between the fissure channels and a side edge of the tuyere; also the wear indicator consists of an upper cone part and lower cylinder part of smaller diametre. The method consists in fabrication of the cone sleeve with the bottom and a gas supplying tube, in installation of channel-forming strips for through fissure channels and the indicator of refractory concrete mass wear in the cone sleeve, in fixation of lower ends of channel-forming strips by means of expendable mould, and upper ends - by means of a fixing device put on the upper part of the cone sleeve; also the method consists in layering and in vibration compacting refractory concrete mass with successive heat treatment. A net for forming fissure and labyrinth channels is installed into the sleeve; upper and lower ends of the net are fixed. The wear indicator is made in form of the upper cone part and lower cylinder part of smaller diametre; it is fixed by means of two brackets and threaded pins.
