FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: used in the out-of-furnace processing of liquid steel in a steel-pouring ladle by blowing it with an inert gas. A tuyere for bottom blowing of liquid metal with gas in a ladle contains a shell, a bottom, a gas supply tube, a refractory material, through gas-conducting oriented channels, a gas supply chamber, a gas-conducting wear indicator and additional oriented gas-conducting channels. The tuyere is made of a monolithic refractory material and, during the vibration casting process, a gas-conducting wear indicator is installed in it, from which additional oriented gas supply channels to the gas supply chamber pass through the monolithic refractory material. The gas-conducting structure of the wear indicator is either the pores of the porous refractory material from which it is made, or gas-conducting channels of a different shape, for example, slotted, tubular, etc., or both at the same time. When supplied to the tuyere, gas passes simultaneously through both the main slot channels and additional channels, and through the channels in the wear indicator, which cools and darkens as a result, making it easy to determine the degree of wear of the tuyere. Making such an indicator and a tuyere from the same refractory material sharply reduces the difference in their thermal expansion.

EFFECT: preventing the formation of cracks in the refractory material of the tuyere and preventing its premature failure.
