FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: facility consists of moulding matrix, two upper and two lower puncheons for forming a shell and four plates with central opening: two upper ones, main and additional, intermediary one and lower one. Puncheons and plates are situated as shown in dwg.1 The matrix is installed in the main upper plate. The lower additional puncheon is arranged on the fixed low plate. The main low puncheon is assembled on a billet pusher, while the upper additional puncheon is located on the upper additional plate. The method consists of two stages. The shell is formed at the first stage by means of supplying powder into a cavity formed with the main low puncheon in upper position and additional lower puncheon in low position. Further a bottom of the shell is moved into the lowermost position and the bottom and walls of the shell are compacted. At the second stage powder of carbide steel is supplied into the shell and compacted, and then the billet is pushed out.
EFFECT: simplification of process due to eliminating separate operations for production and treatment of shell.
