FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to test engineering and can be used for testing strength of large structures, mainly missile compartments. The method involves throwing the test structure from a certain height and decelerating it on a circular elastic cushion with stiffness, defined by a relationship which takes into account stiffness of the elastic cushion, mass of the test compartment, given duration of the half-sine pulse. The required level of impact acceleration on elements of the compartment is achieved due to the height from which the compartment is thrown, and the frequency content is provided for by testing a full-sized compartment fitted with standard elements and assigning duration of the half-sine pulse.
EFFECT: creating loads during testing, which correspond to operational loads, possibility of conducting tests with full-sized compartments and cutting on labour input during tests.
