FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to metallurgy, particularly to process of fabricating refractory porous blocks for blasting liquid metal with inert gas. The method consists in fabrication of a conductor from two pipes arranged vertically one above the other and connected at ends with end holders. The lower pipe is made out of plastic, while the upper one is made out of metal. Further both pipes are wound from outside with plastic fibre to form directed channels after burning. The conductor with wound plastic fibre is transferred into a mould filled with refractory concrete; height of refractory concrete layer is ½ of conductor height. Further concrete is subject to vibrocompaction. Upon vibrocompaction concrete is cured at room temperature within 4 hours; plastic fibre is cut off; a porous block is taken out of the mould, heat-treated at temperature 400°C and burned at temperature over 1500°C.
EFFECT: reduced impurity of metal with non-metallic inclusions at 30,2 %.
