FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: method relates to five-coordinate milling wherein hob is moved relative to the part along at least one certain milling trajectory to produce 3D-shape surface. Note that used hob has working head diametre exceeding the hob shank radius. Parametres of ball finger hob with the hob working head radius corresponding to its shank radius are used to determine first milling trajectories, which make auxiliary milling trajectories to determine second milling trajectories. Proposed hob has a shank and working head with radius reckoned from the center located outside the shank. Note that the difference between the working head radius and that of shank is selected to facilitate determining second milling trajectories.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
