FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to non-ferrous metallurgy, particularly to preparation of carnallite raw material to electrolysis. The method of processing carnallite dust from cyclones of fluid-bed furnace consists in charging raw material into the fluid-bed furnace, in dehydration of material, in dust arrest in cyclones and in successive extraction of dust from cyclones. Carnallite dust is melted in a reservoir, further solid mixture out of waste electrolyte and magnesium chloride is added into melted carnallite dust at weight ratio of melted carnallite dust to solid mixture of waste electrolyte and magnesium chloride equal to 1:(1:1.1). Solid mixture of waste electrolyte and magnesium chloride is mixed at weight ratio (1-1.1):1. Carnallite dust and solid mixture of waste electrolyte and magnesium chloride is heated to temperature 750-780°C within 0.5-2.0 h.
EFFECT: optimisation of chemical composition of raw material for electrolyte production of magnesium; rational utilisation of wastes; reduced consumption norms of basic raw material.
