FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method for obtaining synthetic carnallite involves cleaning and concentration of magnesium-chlorate solutions, their mixing with solid crushed potassium electrolyte of magnesium electrolyser units, heating with release of gases and cooling of the mixture at constant mixing so that synthetic carnallite is obtained, which contains not more than 5 wt % of liquid phase, with introduction of partially dehydrated carnallite in the form of dust of carnallite dehydration furnaces during a synthesis process. Before mixing, the solid crushed potassium electrolyte of magnesium electrolyser units is heated by gases released from the heating zone. At a dilution stage, the reaction mixture is heated to the temperature of not more than 120°C at mass ratio of KCl/MgCl2 in the reaction mixture of 0.78-0.83; besides, initial concentration of magnesium chloride in the solution is 23-32 wt %, and dust of carnallite dehydration furnaces is added to the mixture at content of total water in the system of 42-52 wt %.
EFFECT: invention allows reducing heat consumption, reducing the time and increasing content of carnallite in a product.
